Tina Anderson

Tina Dawn Anderson is the Director of Music Ministry at St. Mary’s Parish.

She grew up in Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks in Montana with her parents and older brother.   After graduating from Columbia Falls High School in 1997, she moved to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho where she earned an undergraduate degree in music education (band emphasis) with a minor in vocal music education and certification to teach K-12 music, band and choir.  After a semester of substitute teaching she entered graduate school at Washington State University and earned a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance.  Tina and Jon Anderson were married in 2002.  They have been blessed with a daughter, Maia (6), and son Will (3).

Tina has been involved in the music ministry for most of her life.  She remembers playing a hymn or two on piano at St. Richard’s in Gardiner.  Then she became involved regularly in the music ministry of St. Richard’s in Columbia Falls, first as a trumpet player and later as a singer.  As a student at U of I, Tina began her involvement at St. Mary’s by playing her trumpet from the choir loft.  A couple of years later, in 2000 she accepted the job as Director of Music Ministry.

Tina continues to play her trumpet in the U of I Faculty Brass Quintet and sings with a local vocal ensemble “The Jellybeans.”  When not making music or chasing after the kids (and sometimes while chasing after the kids), Tina enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, running and hiking, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her family.
